Our card reader died, so now mama has to walk ALL the way to the office to plug her memory card into the printer, then plug the printer into the laptop. It's so burdensome to move 15 feet off the couch, so mama's been putting off updating the blog. (Especially since the Olympics are on! Luckily for you, ice dancing is on- boring.)
June at her usual post. Though usual when he climbs in a chair, she screams until someone gets her food. This usually starts about 20 minutes before supper is ready and mama tries not to encourage her. Last week, she threw such a fit mama took her upstairs until supper was ready. But this time she was all smiles for mama.
Why was she smiling? Because it was Fat Tuesday, and every year on Fat Tuesday mama attempts to make pecan pralines ("praw-lines" if you're from the south). And just like every year, mama fails at making pralines- they never set up. Nonetheless, papa made sure all of them got eaten.
I'm preparing for the new baby. So far, I can poke its eyes out and smother it with a blanket.
Last Friday was my 100th day of school. We had one assignment- to bring in 100 things- anything we wanted. I chose cars. Mama told me I had to count out 10 piles of 10 cars each. Here's the finished product. Not only did the project appeal to my meticulous nature, mama and I got to work on counting by tens. And in case you're wondering, this is only about half of my matchbox car collection.
It was so warm here this week that mama got out some spring clothes for Juner. This is a dress we inherited from Aunt Jodie. Annalise wore it last summer and it was her favorite. We hope it doesn't make upset her that June is wearing it now. I remember how mad she was when she discovered that Aunt Jenni was giving it away.
Another sweet picture minus the mouthful of fruit loops.
There's a gas station that boast a "Wall of Beer" close to our house. Mama has gone occasionally to look longingly at what used to be. Papa just found out you can buy just one beer there instead of a 6 pack. So he's been having fun trying out new beers. I guess mama's getting too used to her O'Doul's because this was too strong her her.
There aren't any pictures from this weekend. Friday was sunny and 60 degrees, so we went to a park then on to campus to watch the baseball season opener against mama and papa's alma mater- Miami University. And we didn't feel bad for cheering for Miami because they lost soundly 11-0.
We spent most of Saturday outside playing. On Sunday morning, mama decided we needed to get doughnuts and head down to the lake park. We spent hours there playing, and everyone was in such a good mood loving the 7o degree weather that we decided to stay up from naps and go see another Clemson baseball game. The game started at 2 and mama was very prepared with a ton of snack she snuck into the stadium. We had a fun time watching the game and running around. We lasted until the 5th inning (around 4pm). It was late enough that mama said we didn't have to take a nap, so we got to watch some tv instead.
Tonight we had a spaghetti dinner at school. I was so happy because I got to sit with my friend Kefu. I didn't eat much spaghetti, but Kefu and I were first in line for ice cream. We were fortunate enough to get in the line with the very generous man who gave us each 4 scoops of ice cream with 2 cookies and a big dallop of chocolate dope. Check out how big my belly is.
Here's my impression of mama. "Oh, I'm pregnant. Don't jump on me. My belly hurts. Grump. Grump. Grump."
June also had a great time at the spaghetti dinner. Kefu's parents were taken by her charms and she talked about 8 pieces of garlic bread. After supper, mama noticed she always managed to have a cookie in her hand, so someone must have been supplying her. She thinks it was me.
This is mama's new favorite outfit. She found it in a Sadie bag and thinks Juner is super cute in her short pants and tree shirt. Look close and see that the leaves are made out of hearts. Adorable.
