Saturday- Henry.

On Saturday, we all headed to our favorite tourist spot in South Carolina- the train tunnel!

We forgot our flashlights, but we were fearless as we headed in alone.

It was bright enough that we could see all the way to the back of the tunnel (sort of). We had to hold Gram's hands because she didn't like not being able to see the bumpy ground.

We played on the train car for a while and Uncle Adam and Aunt Girl got goofy.

Papa showed Sadie how to steer.

Then we headed down the mountain to the waterfall.

Sadie and I are best buds. She loves hanging out with me and trying to do what I can do.

In case you forgot what it looked like here's Issaqeena Falls.

We were spell bound.

Watch out below!

I kept a firm grip on Sadie so she couldn't fall. (Don't worry though, from this lookout, the farthest drop was only about 5 feet.)

Papa took all the grown-ups down under the falls while mama and Grams watched the kids. I watched the girls with Grams and made sure they didn't fall off the path or in any water. It took the grown-ups a long time because they got stuck behind two middle-aged women who didn't have any business climbing down steep paths.

Aunt Kate and her girls.

On our walk back to the car, we stopped in at the gazebo that is built out on a pond.

Papa had some music on his cell phone, so we all decided to have an impromptu dance party. Sadie and I are pretty good; June is more of a mellow dancer.

The girls showed off some theatrical dancing (down on one knee- Aunt Katie thinks Sadie saw it on Dancing with the Stars). I wanted Sadie to come sit on the bench by Grams, but eventually the music moved me and I had to bust a move.

Then I showed everyone how a ballerina dances.

Finally, June stopped to peel bark off a tree. Fascinating.

You can't drive to Stumphouse without stopping in Wallhalla (holla!) at mama's favorite cafeteria for some delicious fried chicken. What a great day.

Mama also wants me to tell you about how great my Aunt Girl is. I'm not a big talker (I know it's surprising) when it comes to things I do at school. But get me around Aunt Girl and I spill my guts. On our way to visit a drive-through light show (no pictures, sorry), Aunt Girl got me talking about a lot of things. I told her about the projects we make in school and about my "special buddy" Joshua. I told her that Joshua and I like to play "Alligators." We pretend to be alligators and run around pretending to eat everyone else in our class. Mama doesn't think the girls like this game very much because today I told her that all of my friends at school are boys. I don't like girls at school because they aren't nice. Mama has seen the girls that go to my school. They wear alot of knee-high boots, tights, and white sweater dresses. It's not that they aren't nice, we just don't think that those kind of girls are the kind who'd want to take part in the carnage that goes along with being eaten by an alligator.

Lazy people- June.

By Friday night, we were all starting to feel the toll of only getting 4 hours of sleep (usually less) a night. So we just took it easy.
Papa and Unkie played video games, while everyone else fell asleep on the couches or played on their computers.

On Saturday morning, Henry was even a little worn out of excitement, and asked to do some coloring because "It's been a really long time since I did any crafts."

I didn't feel like getting dressed, or even putting in any hair barrettes.

Sadie and I spotted the blankets and had a pretend sleepover.
Just a sleeping Gugger under here.

Friday- Henry.

On Friday, we all slept in a bit, except mama, who got up at 7 to go to Ace Hardware to buy little Christmas trees in urns for our front door. Sadie and I woke up, but someone just turned on the TV so everyone could stay asleep.

Later, in an unexpected burst of productivity, Uncle Adam went outside and started raking our yard. Papa started helping, and eventually mama got out there too. Before dark, our entire yard was rid of leaves! It was unbelievable! It's already covered up with leaves again, but at least they are new leaves and not the heavy three year old leaves that were piled up in the back yard. Thanks for your help, Unkie!

After all that work, mama decided she wasn't cooking and sent papa and Unkie out to get some barbeque. While they were picking up the food, I took all the girls to Pendleton to see the Christmas tree lighting on the square.

We got there just in time. It was so fun to count down to turn the lights on!

Sadie and I posed for one picture, but wouldn't look at the camera. (June went with Papa and Unkie to get the food because she was coming with a cold and we decided she'd be better off relaxing in a warm car, rather than running around outside with us.)

Everybody was posing in Santa's chair and playing with the play snow, so we decided to get our picture taken too. Mama let us play with the snow, but then we all got yelled at for "messing up Santa's snow." I guess Pendleton's Santa has high standards and dislikes the laughter of small children at Christmas time.
