She's here!

Looks like papa's intuition was right. Our sweet baby girl made her entrance tonight around 6:15 pm.

Georgiana Mae- named for her Great Grandma Wagner- weighs in at 8 pounds 2 ounces.

After an hour or so of a fluctuating heart rate, she made a quick entrance, narrowly avoiding a c-section by just a few minutes. She does not seem too pleased to be out and about and has already learned the true art of a good pout from her big sister.

Many thanks to the amazing Doctor Hearn, who got mama into the hospital to deliver a day early. We'd have named the baby after him if we didn't already have a Henry.
Mama is feeling great, though that may be the remainder of the epidural and the post-birth adrenaline rush talking. Georgie is down in the nursery right now getting a bath and warming up under some lights- she's having a bit of a problem getting warm enough. She's truly a Southern girl. 95 degrees outside and she's still cold.

Persistance pays off- mama.

Well, if you call your doctor desperately enough days in a row, you can get something done. We called Dr. Hearn this morning and he said that if I came into his office, he couldn't necessarily turn me away if I was dilated more than last week. So we headed down to Anderson (after a stop at the Village Baker in Pendleton for pain au chocolat). Turns out I'm already 4 centimeters dilated and the contractions started soon after we got checked in. Maybe the baby just needed the right environment.

We'll let you know how it goes!
