It's baseball season-Juner.

On Friday, we drove two hours to Zebulon, NC, to watch the Carolina Mudhens take on the Cincinnati Reds.
It was great to see the Reds in action and so close. We were probably about 10 rows up and mama and I almost got hit by a foul ball. (Don't get mama started on how dangerous baseball can be.)

Papa saw his current crush- Jay Bruce. And we all saw more players up close when they were signing autographs before the game. Mama even got to watch Bronson Arroyo warm up from about 20 feet away.

We gave mama and papa a hard time by not taking naps on the way to the game and just being punks in general for the first few innings of the game. But later we calmed down enough to let mama and papa watch a little of the game.

Too bad the Reds didn't feel like showing up. They lost to their minor league affiliate 12-4. It looks like it's going to be a long hard season.

Henry is a seasoned veteran of long sporting events and knows you can always leverage good behavior with candy. Mama told Henry not to bite his sucker and he made it last 3 innings.
Later, he convinced papa that he needed "some of that white stuff." So papa bought him the big tub of cotton candy. He portioned it out and got to eat a bite at the end of every half inning.

We had a great night and got to stay up way past our bedtimes! We can't wait to go back to more ball games.

I think mama and papa had a good time too, but mama says next time she's getting a babysitter.
